It's worth the beautiful drive along the Rhine to stop off at Gasthof Wasserstelz. Very well-kept restaurant and everything is so nicely furnished! Extremely friendly service and the food is excellently made with love! SO I hereby reveal an insider tip ? and let yourself be pampered.

Nice, cosy restaurant with a definitive south German style.

Very nice and historic building. Located directly on the Rhine, with its own swimming area. The associated castle ruins is pure history. One point deduction for the location in the approach lane of the airport Zurich (in the morning from 7:00 and in the evening until 20:00 in each case 2.5 hours)

The Gaststube Wasserstelz is beautifully located near the banks of the Rhine. The historic building is beautifully restored. Unfortunately, we had to wait for ordering and paying relatively long, although not too many guests were there. Our ice cream was delicious and the food obviously too. The prices were like in Switzerland, just in euros.

We ate very well. The restaurant has a cozy terrace, nice and shady. The service is courteous and the prices despite the proximity to the CH still quite OK.

Lovely hotel in a peaceful spot by the Rhein. Nice, big, modern rooms. Superb food in the restaurant. Great breakfast. Bikes stored in secure locked store. Walk down the path to the Rhein for a paddle to cool tired feet.

Great food and reasonable prices. Just across the border from Kaiserstuhl in Switzerland.

The guesthouse is quaint and nicely decorated with good amenities and friendly service. The restaurant also serves superb food. However, the place is FULL of flies and mosquitoa. I sat outdoors for dinner and indoors for breakfast - full of both.... I had to swing my knife every 30 seconds over my meal. In breakfast you can see that the flies have eaten everything before you came in, e.g. the fork you use. I even witnessed two flies having sex on the table... how appetising. At night do not open the windows or mosquitoes would fly around your ears and keep you awakw. The hotel really could do something about this and set up some fly traps or mosquito window covers.

Great hotel. In a very quiet location in the middle of the forest. Tastefully decorated with attention to detail. The rooms clean and well furnished. Parking lots are available for free. We were lucky that at the time of our visit a beautiful Christmas crib was built. The food is exquisite. Not very cheap but a visit to the hotel or just in the restaurant is definitely worth it.

Must be the best place in the area. We dined well at a very reasonable price.
